The spring show

The last week in March was unusually warm which meant a lot of daffodils and tulips were open and ready to be entered into the show. The Saturday of the show was cooler but at least it was fine - I was hopeful of some good displays at the show. At 2 o'clock I was not disappointed - a lot of very good exhibits in the majority of classes, which has not always been the case with either daffodils already finished or tulips not started.

However not many people came to look around at the end of the judging not only to enjoy the display of flowers but also the delicious homemade cakes being sold. We need to get more people not only exhibiting in our shows (currently less than 2% of the membership take part) but also coming to look around. Some suggestions were made at the show which will be discussed by the show committee but we would welcome other suggestions or comments to make our shows even more of a success.

Thanks you to all those who helped on the day and all those who entered exhibits
